FAQ

Do I need to make a reservation for rentals and tours, or can I just walk in?

We recommend making a reservation in advance, especially during peak times and weekends, to ensure availability of equipment and tour spots. However, walk-ins are welcome based on availability. You can make reservations through our website or by contacting us directly.

Where in the park are you located?

Oleta River Adventures is located 1 mile South of the Ranger Station. It is the only 2-story building in the park. You will notice the kayak launch site across from our building. Continue to drive on that same road until you reach Parking Lot #1 where you can park your vehicle while you are enjoying the rental.

We open at 9am on the weekdays and 8am on the weekends. We close 1 hour prior to the park’s closing time, which is sunset

Sandspur is located in the Intercoastal Waterway. It takes 30-40 minutes to paddle to the island then 30-40 minutes to return to our launch site. Most guests like to rent our water sport equipment for 2 hours to allow time for the commute and the adventure.

Yes, you can fit a small cooler in our vessels.

We have beach cruisers and mountain bikes available to rent. The beach cruiser is made for leisurely strolls on the paved roads throughout the park. The mountain bikes come in hardtail or full suspension and can be taken into the mountain bike trail system within the park.

A friend and I did the two hour long kayaking tour and it was a great activity to spend a beautiful morning on the water. Our tour guide was very informative and fun and showed her love and passion for nature. I will definitely come back next time I'm in town to try paddle boarding!

Awesome mountain biking trails for this area. I really didn’t think id find anything decent but I had a great time and the rest of the park is also gorgeous and a vibe!

My husband and I rented single kayaks for enjoying a paddle in the park and to sand spur island to meet the friendly raccoons. It did not disappoint. The paddle is a definite workout especially across the bay but worth every drop of sweat to meet the friendly masked bandits. They loved the red grapes and bananas (they seemed the favorites). The paddle back to the launch wasn’t near as bad. The staff was very friendly and super helpful with all my questions, not to mention amazing customer service. 10/10 would recommend to anyone wanting a fun paddle in the Miami area.

Nice place, easy to arrive and very friendly staff, I got to meet Tony, the manager of the kayaking place and was very nice getting to know him and to have the kayaking experience, unfortunately the weather forces us to go back after about an hour but, it was worth and best part they charge when you’re back so you don’t have to pre pay for time that maybe you’re not going to be there or either way if you got to extend the experience you don’t have to do 2 times the same process. Hope to be back next time in Miami.

Oleta River Adventures and State Park is a refreshing little piece of quiet nature nestled in the middle of concrete chaos. The staff are friendly, kind and accommodating. Our entire kayakiing experience from start to finish was enjoyable. Honestly, the patient staff members were awesome!
