World Ocean Day Beach Cleanup

Join Oleta River Adventures and Beach.com for a World Ocean Day cleanup at Oleta River State Park.

Volunteers will meet at the Oleta River State Park Outdoor Center before paddling by kayak to Sandspur Island to help remove debris and protect the mangrove-lined waterways that make this park so special. Free kayaks will be provided for volunteers, and the state park entrance fee will be waived for participants that day.

Please arrive by 9AM for a brief orientation. Volunteers should bring a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses, gloves, trash grabbers if available, comfortable clothing, and closed-toe shoes.

After the cleanup, volunteers will gather at The Oleta River Grill for a small post-cleanup gathering. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, but minors must be accompanied by an adult. Community service hours can be certified for students upon request.
